Dothan Community First Responders

Dothan Community First Responders

In the heart of Alabama’s wiregrass region, there exists a group of unsung heroes who continuously serve and protect their community. Our Dothan community first responders include police officers, firefighters, paramedics, EMT (Emergency Medical Technicians) and all the volunteer first responders play an indispensable role in ensuring the safety and well-being of the Wiregrass community.

First responders are often the first to arrive at the scene of emergencies, providing immediate assistance during crises. Their quick response times and unwavering commitment can make the critical difference between life and death. In cases of accidents, medical emergencies, fires and natural disasters, the timely arrival of these heroes ensures the best possible outcomes for the communities’ residents.

First responders serve as symbols of unity and strength during challenging times. When facing natural disasters or other crises, their dedication to protecting lives and property inspires community members to come together and support one another. The Wiregrass community resilience is strengthened through collaboration and assistance provided by first responders during difficult moments.

First responders in the Wiregrass community are the embodiment of unwavering dedication, sacrifice, and courage. Their actions contribute to the overall well-being and prosperity of the region. As we express our gratitude for their tireless service, we acknowledge that they are the true guardians of Wiregrass, standing ready to face any challenge that may arise. Their commitment continues to positively impact and uplift the entire community.

Earlier this month we had the opportunity to speak with Gwen Webb of Survival Flight, Lt. Sammie Hancock and Capt. Rachel David of the Dothan Police Department, Alan Canalejo of Enterprise Rescue Air Medical and Craig Marsh, a volunteer of the Rehoboth Fire and Rescue team. Watch our video with them as they share what drives them to be a first responder.
