The Guide to Taking Care of Stanley

The one dilemma with everyone’s Stanley is the confusion on how to clean it, which leads to neglect on keeping your water bottle clean and free from bacteria. As a result, we decided it was important to give a step-by-step guide on maintaining the cleanliness of your emotional support Stanley.

Clean Up Time

You might just throw your Stanley in the dishwasher come cleaning day or give it a quick rinse and assume that your bottle is up to par. The main problem with neglecting to keep your Stanley clean is that bacteria can build up, and, in worst-case scenarios, mold could grow.

We recommend washing your Stanley once a week and promptly after drinking anything other than water.

Clean as the Dawn Ducks

The Stanley lid and tumbler completely break down, which is something a lot of people don’t know! First, unscrew the lid and pull the straw out. Then, flip the lid over and pinch the tabs together – you may need to use both hands. The tabs might be a little tight, but they are meant to come apart for cleaning purposes. You can soak the lid and its parts in warm soapy water while you conquer cleaning the tumbler.

The stainless steel on the inside is durable but we recommend not using abrasive tools like wire brushes as they could lead to scratching it up. Your best option is to use a sponge and Dawn soap. (If it’s good for the ducks, it’s good for us!) If you have any hard water stains, you can use white vinegar and soak, then scrub with water to remove those hard lines.

Remember to not use any harsh chemicals such as bleach!
