How to Pack your Tundra Hard Cooler

“What did one Yeti say to the other Yeti? “Don’t hate me just because I am a little cooler.” ”

-Every Yeti Tundra Hard Cooler ever

Raise your hand if you struggle with ice melting in your Tundra Hard Cooler? Coolers are meant to keep our drinks cold and our food good. If most of us were honest, we would say that ice melts in our coolers relatively fast and we end up with a limited amount of time to eat the food we pack before it goes bad.

We looked to the Yeti pros to learn how to pack a cooler properly and we hope you never struggle to pack a Tundra hard cooler again after learning these four easy tips.

How to pack your Tundra Hard Cooler:

1. Begin with a cold cooler.

Before you use your cooler, make sure you bring it inside from your garage. The insulation of the cooler is affected greatly by heat and bringing it inside overnight will better your chances of the items in your cooler remaining cool. If you need a cooler in a pinch, then you can sacrifice a bag of ice to cool down the insulation in the cooler before you pack it.

2. Keep your food and drinks chilled.

As you plan your adventure or excursion, make sure you keep the food and drinks you plan to bring in the fridge, freezer, or a cooled location. The colder your food/drinks are the longer they will last in your Yeti cooler.

3. Layer cooler with 2/3 ice and 1/3 product.

It is important to layer the bottom of the cooler with bags of ice. From there, you can place your items that need to be the coldest on the bottom and can include the rest of your items from there. Remember, to pack more ice than product.

4. AIR IS THE ENEMY

Lastly, be mindful of how many times you open your cooler. Be aware of where the items in your cooler are in order to limit the amount of air that enters the cooler. Before you head out on your excursion, layer the top of the cooler with more ice or towels. It is key that there is not any extra space at the top of the cooler where air could linger.

Now we can all be pros at packing our Tundra Hard Coolers!
