Hurricane Michael Disaster Relief Collections Drive
By Susan
In the wake of Hurricane Michael, our hearts have been heavy for those in our community that have been affected. We have been, and will continue to lift up each and every person in prayer that has been impacted by the Hurricane. The rebuilding and recovery process will take some time, no doubt. Despite the chaos and heart ache, it has been so exciting to see how our community has come together to help one another during this immediate crisis. It is truly an inspiring and beautiful thing to watch all of the Hurricane Michael disaster relief collections.
As time has gone by, and more people have been able to get back to some sense of normal, we have had many of our customers reach out and ask what can be done to help those who are still suffering from the effects of Hurricane Michael. As many of you may already know, our company’s mission is to glorify God by serving our customers, our staff and their families, and our community. We teach our staff each day about the importance of seeing needs and meeting them. It is quite obvious to all of us that there is a significant need in our community right now, and we are compelled to help meet that need with the assistance from our customers. Today, we are excited to tell you about a way that you and your family can partner with Eagle Eye Outfitters to support the largest disaster relief operation in the United States as they aid our community over the next several weeks and months.
What organization are we talking about? We are talking about the Southern Baptist Convention Disaster Relief Team that has been stationed at Ridgecrest Baptist Church since Hurricane Michael came through and wreaked our community. These teams have been helping to supply meals for the Red Cross, Salvation Army, and other disaster relief teams. Also, teams have been going out into the community to help those that have any kind of damage from the Hurricane. There are people from all over our state and other states helping out with this operation. Overall, there are around 90 volunteers and 10 to 15 people on the administrative team. This operation started out with 175 jobs, but has now expanded to 500. Disaster relief teams are now responding to jobs over in Georgia, and some in Florida. What an incredible ministry!
Here is how you can get involved… While you may not be able to give of your time or talents, we are asking you to give financially to purchase $25 Gift Cards from Lowes, Home Depot, Target, Wal-Mart, or generic Visa and American Express gift cards for these Disaster Relief teams to distribute to the families they are serving each and every day. These gift cards will help families by gas, food, and other belongings that they lost during Hurricane Michael. We do not take this lightly and hope that you will trust us and partner with us as we collect $25 gift cards so that the dozens of Disaster Relief teams stationed here will be able to serve those in our community that are still struggling to get back on their feet.
Starting today, Eagle Eye Outfitters will have a collection box on our checkout counter where you and your family can come in and drop off as many $25 gift cards as you feel led to give! You may only be able to give one $25 gift card, but just know that can make a huge difference in the lives of those in our community that are suffering.
So, we have seen the need and have devised a plan to meet that need. Now, we need your help. Please purchase as many $25 gift cards as you can and bring them by Eagle Eye over the next several days, and weeks so that we can help our community get back on their feet. We thank you in advance for your help, and cannot wait to see what the Lord is going to do in our community over the next few months to assist in the Hurricane Michael disaster relief.
